The flight was forced to return to France Field due to weather conditions where 6-line, "AVIATOR ENCOUNTERED/ IMPOSSIBLE WEATHER/ CONDITIONS NEARING/ JAMAICA, COMPELLING/ RETURN. MAIL RE-DIS-/ PATCHED BY STEAMER" handstamp was applied and cover was forwarded receiving Kingston, Jamaica, 10-23, receivers. Only 726 pieces were carried on the flight. An historic flight with exceptional combination franking. Less then two dozen examples of 2c Mt. Hope are known on cover of which 3 or 4 were carried on this flight. An Attractive & Amazing item.
