Canal Zone 1904 10c yellow (#3), tied by 7-bar killer on cover with matching LA BOCA, July 16, 1904, cds and Cristobal, 7-16, transit handstamp. This is the LATEST KNOWN USE of the first issue which was demonetized on the 17th, a Sunday. Stamp is extremely well centered, with natural straight-edge at bottom, and for some reason stuck on top of a small piece of bottom selvege. Cover opened at left, with minor tear away from everything. An important usage! Ex-Dick Salz.

Hope 1c green & black (#46, 1st ptg, VF-XF) tied by Cristobal, 12-16-1915, machine cancel on multicolored PPC depicting, "A NATIVE BABY IN CARNIVAL DRESS, PANAMA CITY." to U.S. Very early use (Dec. 14th is earliest known) of this elusive stamp. Stamp is superbly centered though card has light toned spots and corner crease. Still an excellent early usage of this Mt. Hope local.

In our opinion #47 covers are grossly undervalued in scott!
Canal Zone 1920 Mt. Hope 2c orange vermillion & black, type III (#47, Very Fine) & 1918 1c green & black, type IV (#52, Very Fine) tied by Cristobal, 10-6-1920, machine cancel on 1916 2c red & black entire (#U2a/2a, Very Fine) to Jamaica by unsuccessful Trans-Oceanic Record flight #1018 (CZ flight #2) with special blue Cristobal, Oct. 6, Transit hdsp with, "AIR SERVICE/ FIRST DISPATCH/ Canal Zone-U.S.A." in killer bars. The flight was forced to return to France Field due to weather conditions where 6-line, "AVIATOR ENCOUNTERED/ IMPOSSIBLE WEATHER/ CONDITIONS NEARING/ JAMAICA, COMPELLING/ RETURN. MAIL RE-DIS-/ PATCHED BY STEAMER" handstamp was applied and cover was forwarded receiving Kingston, Jamaica, 10-23, receivers. Only 726 pieces were carried on the flight. An historic flight with exceptional combination franking. Less then two dozen examples of 2c Mt. Hope are known on cover of which 3 or 4 were carried on this flight. An Attractive & Amazing item. Ex-Leeds. In our opinion, #47's on cover are grossly undervalued in Scott.

Z." to U.S. Scarce use of this stamp, less then a dozen are recorded on cover. Grossly undervalued in Scott.
Canal Zone 1924-25 1c Franklin Error (#71a), Inverted Overprint, block of 4, tied by mute killers on large part of Registered penalty cover with additional 1c (#71), 2c (#73) & 5c (#74), to Cristobal with Mar. 23, 1925, Registered, backstamps. Cover is from W. Lindo, a messenger in the Port Captain's Office in Cristobal, who discovered the error, to J(oseph) W. Coffin, Chief Clerk in the Port Captains Office, who obtained most of the errors from Lindo. It is estimated that approximately 50 examples of this error were saved. This is the only known used multiple, and one of only a couple of covers known. The cover, which shows evidence of having been burned at bottom, has been reduced substantially at the bottom, far from both the stamps and markings. A Blockbuster Showpiece and one of the True Rarieties of Canal Zone Philately!!
